The Edwardian Ball is an elegant, three day, turn of the century celebration of music, theatre, dance, fine art, literature, fashion, technology, circus arts, ballroom dance, and, of course, the art and stories of beloved author/illustrator Edward Gorey. Now in its ninth year, this award-winning weekend presents three nights at The Regency Center, January 23rd-25th, 2009.
Friday January 23rd – The Edwardian World’s Faire in The Regency Grand Ballroom
Featuring Rasputina, Abney Park, Kinetic Steam Works, Dark Garden, City Circus, Vima Dance, Kitten on the Keys, Shovelman, Miz Margo, FACT 50, and Will Chase Arts ($30)
Saturday January 24th – “The Tuning Fork,” or, The Ninth Annual Edwardian Ball in The Regency Grand Ballroom
Featuring co-hosts and creators Rosin Coven and Vau de Vire Society, Cirque Berzerk, Jill Tracy, Miz Margo, Vima Burlesque, DJ Delachaux, ballroom dancing, portrait studio, and more. ($35)
Sunday January 25th – “Sunday Gorey Sunday” Edwardian Variety Night in The Regency Lodge
Featuring Vau de Vire Society, The Ghosts Project with Paul Mercer, Agent Ribbons, Fou Fou HA!, Oryx Incruentus, Allison Lovejoy, Evil Sarah, FACT 50, Kingfish of the Hubba Hubba Revue, DJ Delachaux, Le Cancan Bijou, and shhhh special guests! ($25, very limited tickets available)
